General Information

NOTE: Vehicles with automatic transmission additional wiring diagram automatic transmission.


Test conditions:
- Battery voltage OK.
- Fuse S176 (110 A) in fuse bracket/battery OK.
- Starter solenoid terminals and ground strap connections between engine, body and battery must be tight and must not be corroded/oxidized.
- Vehicles with an automatic transmission move shift lever to position "P" or "N"!
- Vehicles with manual transmission move transmission range to idle speed!

Required for troubleshooting:
- Multimeter Fluke 83
- Connector Test Kit VW 1594
- Valid wiring diagram
