Warranty - Customer Parts Back Order Program
Number: V 99-24CDate: 11/2/1999
Subject: Customer Parts Back Order Program
Supercedes Warranty Circular V99-22 Canada Only
Effective November 1, 1999, Volkswagen has initiated a Back Order Parts program that will increase the loaner amount available to the dealerships up to $60.00 CND when a part is on National Back Order during the months of November and December.
This program's intention is to allow a Dealer to place a customer into a nicer rental vehicle when their vehicle is inoperable or unsafe to drive due to a parts back order. Therefore, Dealer owned loaner vehicles, which are normally used, are excluded from this program. If a Dealer places a more expensive vehicle into loaner service, and the dealer can justify charging more than the usual allowed, Volkswagen will reimburse up to the amount determined to be fair market rental rate for that vehicle (up to $60.00 CND).
Volkswagen will reimburse dealers for actual loaner vehicle costs only, up to $60.00 CND per day, which excludes licensing fees, road tax, insurance, etc. For example, if it costs $44 for the rental, Volkswagen will reimburse $44.
^ This Program begins on November 1, 1999, and ends on December 31, 1999.
^ All exclusions, limitations and document requirements that pertain to the regular warranty loaner vehicle program also pertain to this program. Please see Article 4 of the Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual if you have questions regarding what constitutes loaner vehicle eligibility.
^ Proper documentation must be attached to the R.O. in support of the back order situation.
^ Specific criteria for the program are being delivered via Airborne Express to the dealership November 1, 1999, from the Customer Care Team.
^ The Customer Care Certificate ($150) may not be claimed through the WIN system. Follow the guidelines listed in the information packet received from the Customer Care Team.
^ The dealership should claim the normal loaner amount on the appropriate warranty claim. To claim the amount above $30.00 use the following procedure:
Claim Type: SP
Damage Code: BOPC For Canada
Put the additional Loaner amount in the loaner field.
^ Example: If the loaner amount is $50.00/day for 7 days for a Volkswagen claim the dealer would claim $210.00 ($30.00 X 7 days) on the warranty claim and then make an SP claim for the difference ($140.00).
