Front wheel camber, adjusting
Note: Front wheel camber cannot be set separately It is possible, however, to move the subframe in order to symmetrically center the front wheel camber within the specified range.
- Remove undertray.
- Remove bolts -3- and -4-.
- Install special tool VAG 1941.
Tightening torque of bolts -1-: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
- Loosen bolts -1-, -2-, -5-, -6-, -7- and -8- .
- Set front wheel camber within specified range by turning bolt -2-.
- Relieve tension on bolt -2- and check the readings obtained, if necessary correct camber again.
Removing special tool WAG 1941
CAUTION:
^ At least two bolts must always remain tightened so that the position of the subframe does not change
^ Bolts -5-, -6-, -7- and -8- must be replaced!
- Install bolts -7- and -8-.
Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) + 90°.
- Remove special tool VAG 1941.
- Install bolts -5- and -6-.
Tighten to 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) + 90°
- Tighten bolts -1-, -2-, -3- and -4- to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: The toe setting must be checked after each camber adjustment.
