Removing and Installing



Lower control arm, removing and installing
Removing
- Remove wheel.





- Unbolt wheel speed sensor wiring -2.
1. Securing pins
3. Securing point on axle beam





- Remove bolt -E-.
A -Bolt
B -Parking brake cable
C -Retainer for parking brake cable
D -Control arm





- Press locking tabs -A- together in direction of arrow and slide parking brake cable -2- out from control arm -1-.

CAUTION: Do not pull on parking brake cables or parking brake adjustment will be changed.

3. Bolt for shock absorber
A. Retaining clip for parking brake cable





- Remove bolt -A- for track rod.
- Mark installed position of eccentric washer for bolt -B-.
- Remove bolt -B-.

Installing
Install in reverse order

Tightening torques:
Control arm to body 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.) + 90°
Always use new bolts!
Control arm to wheel bearing housing 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.)
Shock absorber to control arm 70 Nm (S2 ft. lbs.) + 90°
Always use new bolts

Note:
^ After installing check position of steering wheel during a test drive. If steering wheel is not in straight-ahead position, check the wheel alignment.
^ After installing check the parking brake cable adjustment and readjust if necessary. Refer to Brakes and Traction Control.
