1 - Cap
2 - Seal
^ Replace if damaged.
3 - Mounting screw
4 - Tank lid unit
^ With rubber cap.
5 - 0-ring
^ Replace if damaged.
6 - Bleeder valve
^ To remove, unclip valve sideways from connection.
7 - Connection hose
8 - Gravity valve
^ To remove, unclip valve upward from connection.
^ Check valve for throughput. Valve vertical: open, Valve tilted 45° : closed
9 - 25 Nm
10 - Fuel filler tube
11 - Check-valve
^ Note installed position.
12 - Connection hose
13 - Heat shield
^ For fuel filler tube.
14 - 10 Nm
15 - Union nut, 60 Nm
^ Use wrench 3218 to remove and install.
16 - Connector
^ Black, 4-pin
^ For Fuel Level Sensor G and Transfer Fuel Pump (FP) G6.
17 - Flange
^ Note installation position at fuel tank.
18-Seal
^ Replace if damaged.
^ Coat with fuel when installing.
19 - Vent line
^ Black
^ Check for secure fitting.
^ Secure with spring type clamps.
20 - Fuel Supply Sensor 3 G237
21 - Heat shield
^ For fuel tank.
22 - Mounting clip
^ Check for secure fitting.
23 - Tension strap
^ Note installed position.
24 - Fuel Supply Sensor 2 G169
25 - Locking ring, 145 Nm
^ Check for secure fitting.
^ Use wrench 3087 to remove and install.
26 - Fuel tank
^ Support using engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A when removing.
27 - Return line
^ Blue or with blue marking.
^ Check for secure fitting.
^ Secure with spring type clamps.
^ From fuel return line at fuel rail.
28 - Supply line
^ Black
^ Check for secure fitting.
^ Secure with spring type clamps.
29 - Sender for fuel gauge G
^ Clipped in at baffle housing in fuel tank.
30 - Fuel delivery unit
^ Check fuel pump.
^ Clean strainer if dirty.
31 - Supply line
^ Black
^ Check for secure fitting.
^ Secure with spring type clamps.
^ To fuel supply line at fuel distributor.
32 - Fuel filter
^ Installation position: Arrow points in direction of flow.
33-Vent line
^ Black
^ Clipped in sideways at fuel tank.
^ Check for secure fitting.
^ Secure with spring type clamps.
^ To EVAP canister.
34 - Ground (GND) connection
^ Check for secure fitting.






Installation position of fuel delivery unit flange


Marking on flange - 1 - must align with marking on fuel tank - 2-.


Note: After installing fuel delivery unit flange, check whether supply, return and vent lines are still clipped in at fuel tank.






Checking bleeder valve


Lever in rest position: closed
Lever pressed in direction of arrow: open


Note: Before installing bleeder valve, unscrew cap from fuel tank.
