Selector mechanism, removing and installing
Removing
- Carefully pry cover off center console.
- Remove shift knob with cover.





- Remove nuts and remove rubber cover for gear lever housing.





- Remove nuts (arrows) securing gear lever housing.
- Separate exhaust system behind catalyst, if necessary remove front exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust Systems.





- Remove selector mechanism from transmission as follows
- Remove selector rod (arrow -A-).
- Remove push rod by removing socket head bolt (arrow-B-).
- Remove front heat shield above exhaust system.
- Swing gear lever housing with selector rod and push rod down and remove.

Installing
Install in reverse order.
Adjusting selector mechanism. Refer to Adjustments.





Tightening torques
Gear lever housing to body 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
Selector rod to transmission 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Push rod to transmission 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
