1. - Sealing cap
2. - Seal
- Replace if damaged
3. - Securing screw
4. - Tank flap unit
- With rubber cup
5. - O-ring
- Replace if damaged
6. - Vent valve
- To remove valve unclip sideways out of support
- Before installing remove sealing cap, item 1
- Checking, see Fig. 1
7. - Connecting hose
8. - Gravity valve
- To remove valve unclip upward out of support
- Check valve for through-flow valve vertical: open, valve tilted 45°: closed
9. - 25 Nm
10. - Filler neck
11. - Non-return valve
- Note installation position: white side of valve points in direction of sealing cap
12. - Connecting hose
13. - Heat shield
- For fuel filler neck
14. - 10 Nm
15. - Union nut, 60 Nm
- Remove and install with spanner 3218
16. - Connector
- Black
- For fuel gauge sender
17. - Flange
- Note installing position on fuel tank, see Fig 1
18. - Sealing ring
- When installing, insert seal "dry" into fuel tank opening
- Replace if damaged
- Moisten with fuel only when installing flange
19. - Vent pipe
- Black
- Check for proper seating
- Secure with spring-type clips
20. - Fuel supply sensor 3 (G237)
21. - Heat shield
- For fuel tank
22. - Securing clip
- Check for proper seating
23. - Securing strap
- Note installation position
24. - Fuel Level Sensor 2 (G169)
25. - Locking ring
- Check for proper seating
- Remove and install with spanner 3087
26. - Fuel tank
- Support with engine/transmission jack VAG 1383 A when removing
- Removing and installing, Service and Repair
27. - Return pipe
- Blue or blue markings
- Check for proper seating
- Secure with spring-type clips
- From fuel return line on fuel rail, Service and Repair
28. - Supply pipe
- Black
- Check for proper seating
- Secure with spring-type clips
29. - Fuel gauge sender (G)
- Clipped onto reservoir housing in fuel tank
30. - Fuel delivery unit
- Removing and installing, Service and Repair
- Checking fuel pump, Testing and Inspection
- Clean strainer if soiled
31. - Supply pipe
- Black
- Check for proper seating
- Secure with spring-type clips
- To fuel supply line on fuel rail, Service and Repair
32. - Fuel filter
- Installation position: Arrow points in through-flow direction
33. - Vent pipe
- To EVAP canister
- Check for proper seating
- Black
- Clipped onto side of fuel tank
- Secure with spring-type clips
34. - Ground connection
- Check for proper seating

Mark on flange -1- must align with mark on fuel tank -2-.
Note: After installing fuel delivery unit flange, check that the supply, return and breather lines are still clipped onto the fuel tank.
