Engine, Installing

Installation is in reverse of removal, note the following:

Caution
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, due to the cramped conditions, pay attention to the following:
- Route lines of all types(e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum lines and hoses, etc.) and electrical wiring so that the original positions are restored.
- To prevent damages to the lines, make sure there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components

- Make sure alignment sleeves for engine to transmission are installed in cylinder block, install if necessary.





- Engage intermediate plate at sealing flange and slide onto alignment sleeves -arrows-

Vehicles with manual transmission
- Check centering of clutch drive plate, if necessary.
- Check clutch release bearing for wear, replace if necessary.
- Lightly grease clutch release bearing, release bearing guide sleeve and splines on input shaft.
- Install hydraulic clutch slave cylinder. Clutch Hydraulic System
- Install gear selector mechanism. Shift Linkage
- If necessary adjust selector cables. Shift Cable

Vehicles with automatic transmission 01M
- To secure torque converter to drive plate, only use nuts approved by replacement parts program
- Install selector cable on transmission, adjust if necessary. Shift Cable
- Adapt control module for automatic transmission.

Vehicles with automatic transmission 09A
- To secure torque converter to drive plate, only use nuts approved by replacement parts program
- Install selector cable on transmission, adjust if necessary. Shift Cable
- Adapt control module for automatic transmission.


Continued for all vehicles
- When installing the assembly, make sure sufficient clearance to drive axles.
- Align engine and transmission mounts. Engine Mount
- Install drive axles. Axle Shaft Assembly
- Install front exhaust pipe. Exhaust System
- Install intake hose (between charge air cooler and throttle valve control part) onto throttle valve control part and secure.
- Install power steering pump. Power Steering Pump
- Install ribbed belt. Drive Belt
- Install connecting hoses between secondary air pump to combination valve and secondary air pump to air cleaner.
- Install sound insulation tray. Sound Proofing / Insulation
- Fill engine with coolant. Cooling System

- Perform "Procedure after Voltage Supply Open Circuit"
