Automatic transmission 5 speed 09A109B.

Transmission
The 5-speed automatic transmission O9A is equipped with 5 hydraulically activated forward gears. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears when locked-up become mechanically driven gears bypassing the torque converter slip.

Torque converter
The torque converter is equipped with a lock-up clutch. The lock-up clutch will be closed dependent on load and speed. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears can be driven mechanically (no slip).

ATF
The ATF is filled for life. The ATF need not be changed during the normal maintenance schedule
If ATF needs to be topped up, then only use ATF with part number: G 052 990 A2
The ATF level in the planetary gearbox and final drive is checked and topped up together.
