Trunk / Liftgate: Adjustments
NOTE:
- The rear lid is adjusted correctly when the shut lines are even all around and it does not project too far in or out. All contours must align when the rear lid is closed.
- The vehicle must be standing on its wheels when adjusting the rear lid.
- Turn adjustment buffer trough 90 ° with an open end wrench (24 mm) and lake out of shaped hole.
- Unscrew locking screw (3 mm hex key) up to rubber stop -1-.
- Pull notched slide out of housing and set to dimension a = 12.5 mm (0.49 in.).
NOTE: When new the adjustment screw is already set to 12.5 mm.
- Insert adjustment stop and secure in shaped hole by turning through 90 °.
- Close rear lid using light pressure at center.
- Open rear lid again.
- Tighten locking screw -1- to 1.5 Nm (13 in. lb) using torque screwdriver VAG 1624 or equivalent.
- Close rear lid and check adjustment.
