Removing

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags

- Disconnect vehicle battery.
- Remove backrest frame and loosen backrest cover in area of airbag --.







- Remove bolts -.

CAUTION: Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the airbag. Therefore, the mechanic must be electrostatically discharged before disconnecting ignition - and Ground (GND) wires. This is done e.g. by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

- Disconnect connector - from airbag unit -.
- Pull off airbag unit - from backrest frame -.

Installing
- Installation is the reverse order of removal.
- Switch ignition on.

CAUTION: Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect vehicle battery.
