On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program
Central Locking
Requirements
- Voltage supply and fuses OK
- "Terminal 15 on" required to initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD)
NOTE:
- If the display remains blank, check the VAG 1551 voltage supply.
- Additional operating instructions can be obtained by pressing the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) "HELP" button.
- The -> button is used to advance through the program sequence.
- The "PRINT" button is used for switching on the printer (warning lamp in button lights up).
- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. Refer to "Selectable Functions When Using VAG 1551", under "Restraint Systems", Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks
- Switch ignition on.
- Switch printer on with "PRINT" button (warning lamp in button lights up).

- The ignition must be switched on.

K wire not switching to B+
- Malfunctions have occurred at the start of or during the program (external interference?).

No signal from control module
- Check wiring connections for Data Link Connector (DLC), as well as voltage supply and Ground (GND) connections.

Error in communication link
- After repairing possible causes of malfunction, once again press buttons -3- and -5- to insert "Central Locking" address word 35.
