DTC memory, Erasing

Special tools
- VAG1551/1552 Scan Tool using VAG1551/3 adaptor cable

Test conditions
- All malfunctions eliminated


NOTE: After eliminating any stored malfunctions, check DTC memory as follows and then erase.


Work sequence
- Connect Scan Tool VAG1551/1552.
- Press -0- and -1- buttons to select Address word 01: "Engine electronics"

Display will appear as shown (example only):

- Press -> button.

Display will appear as shown:

Select function XX

- Press -0- and -2- buttons to select Function 02: "Check DTC memory".
- Press -Q- button to enter input.

- Press -> button until all stored malfunctions have been displayed and current display appears as shown:

- Press -0- and -5- buttons to select Function 05: "Erase DTC memory".
- Press -Q- button to enter input.

Display will appear as shown:

Rapid data transfer ->
DTC memory is erased!


If DTC memory will not erase, there is still a stored malfunction in the system which must first be corrected before DTC memory can be erased. Proceed as follows:
- Press -> button.
