Output Diagnostic Test Mode ->
EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve -N18
- Valve must click.
NOTE: It is difficult to hear valve click because of masking effect of engine noise. Determine valve operation by feel (touching).
If valve does not click
- Check EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve and Mass Air Flow sensor function. Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor, Checking
- Press -> button.
Display will appear as shown
Output Diagnostic Test Mode ->
A/C compressor interruption
- A/C compressor shut-off is checked.
- This test step is also called up on vehicles without A/C.
- The A/C compressor must stop within 5 secs. (visual check) then start approx. every 5 secs. and then stop.
If A/C compressor not switched OFF
- Check A/C compressor cut-off
- Press -> button

Output Diagnostic Test Mode ->
Glow plug relay -J52
- Relay must click.
- Production number on reverse side of relay must be "180".
- Relay ON and OFF switching can also be inferred by observing the interior light becoming brighter and darker as a result of glow plug power consumption.
If relay does not click
- Check Glow Plug Relay -J52-.
If relay clicks:
- Disconnect Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-.
- Switch ignition ON.
- Wait 20 seconds for Glow Plug Indicator Light -K29- to go OFF.
- Check DTC memory. Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes
If only DTC 00522 appears, Glow Plug Relay - J52- is OK.
- Check and erase DTC Memory. Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Continue test.
If DTC 01050 also appears, Glow Plug Relay - J52- is faulty.
- Replace Glow Plug Relay -J52-.
- Check and erase DTC Memory. Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Set Readiness code. Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness Codes
- Press -> button.
