VAS 5056 Tester

Airbag System Tester VAS 5056

Using the VAS 5056 tester it is possible to test individual airbag components and determine whether they will function properly.


NOTE: Always check the safety measures for working on the airbag system.


Connecting tester to driver's air-bag components

- Remove driver's airbag unit.
- Remove lower steering column switch trim.







- Connect ignition connector -1- onto terminal of VAS 5056.
- Disconnect airbag spiral spring/return spring with slip ring at connector -3- and connect VAS 5056/2 to airbag wiring harness.

Connecting tester to front passenger airbag components


NOTE: See Measured value block, reading, Measuring Value Blocks (Function 08)


- Remove glove box.







- Disconnect airbag unit connector and connect yellow 2-pin connector -2- from VAS 5056/1 to airbag wiring harness.
