Automatic Test Sequence




Automatic Test Sequence

During test and assembly work, other control modules may recognize malfunctions like, for example, connector disconnected. DTC memory of all control modules must therefore be checked and erased when work has been completed. For this:
- Press button -0- twice to select "Automatic test sequence", address word 00. Press -Q- button to confirm input. V.A.G1551 will send all known address words in sequence.

When a control module responds with its identification, the display indicates the number of stored errors or indicates "no malfunctions recognized".

DTCs stored in the system are indicated sequence and printed out. Then the V.A.G1551 scan tool sends the next address word.

Automatic test sequence is over when the following indication appears on the display:


V.A.G-ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC HELP
1 - Rapid data transfer*
2 - Blink code output*



- Erase all DTC memories and then perform a road test.

The following operating conditions must be obtained during road test:
Coolant temperature must rise to above 80 °C.

Once the temperature is reached, the following conditions
- Idle
- Partial throttle
- Wide Open Throttle (WOT)
- Deceleration
mode must be reached several times each.

- Engine speed must be increased to above 3500 RPM during Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
- Check DTC memory of all control modules again using "Automatic test sequence".

If no DTCs are stored:
- Press -> button.
