Rear Backrest (W8 Sedan), Removing And Installing

Removing

Vehicles with part leather trim
- Rear backrest (one piece), removing and installing

Vehicles with full leather or leather/Alcantara trim
- Remove seatbench.
- Remove headrests.







- Press down upholstery in area of headrest guides and disengage locking mechanisms in direction of travel - arrow A -.
- Remove headrest guides upward.
- Fold out center armrest, press locking mechanisms - 1 - toward outside and remove frame.







- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - (23 Nm).
- Remove bolt - 2 - (23 Nm).

Only for vehicles with heated rear seats
- Switch ignition off.
- Disconnect harness connectors - 4 - and - 5 -.

Only for vehicles with center three-point seatbelt







- Remove bolt - 1 - (40 Nm) and remove belt end fitting from seatbelt - 2 -.
- Unclip cover - 3 - and belt guide - 4 -.

NOTE: When installing, make sure that headrest guides are installed previous to belt guide - 4 - and cover - 3 -.

All models







- Remove rear backrest in area of outer headrests from locking devices.

Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Before installing seatbench, mountings - 1 - must be replaced.
