Heater and A/C Unit - Assembly and Disassembly



CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code
- Switch off all electrical consumers
- Switch ignition off and remove ignition key
- Disconnect negative (-) battery terminal
- When disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminals, observe all applicable Notes and torque specifications, as well as instructions on performing OBD program and electrical system function checks.

Notes
- Observe all A/C refrigerant system safety measures.
- Service refrigerant system using Kent More ACR 4 or equivalent.
- During servicing, all couplings, fittings and related fasteners must be torqued to specifications.

Assembly



1. Heater core



Removing
- Prerequisite: heating and A/C unit removed.
- Remove screws -1-.
- Pull heater core up and out from housing -arrow-.



- In order to prevent damage to heater core, lift heater core only from areas indicated.
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Always use new coolant after replacement
2. Housing, upper part
3. Evaporator



Evaporator inlet/outlet seal, attaching
- Evaporator inlet -B- and outlet -A- pipes must be insulated between the halves of the housing with seal -C-.



Evaporator seal, installing
- Foam seal -B- must must be glued around circumference of evaporator -A-.
- To allow evaporator water to drain, do not attach foam seal on evaporator in area -C-.
4. Housing, lower part
- With fresh/recirculating air flap.
- With central air flap.
