Work sequence
- With engine at idle, connect Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 / VAG 1552 and select Engine Control Module (ECM) -J248- with "Address word" 01. VAG 1551 Scan Tool, connecting. [1][2][3]Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX

- Press buttons -0- and -8- for "Read Measured value block" and confirm with -Q- button.

Indicated on display:

Read Measured value block HELP
Input display group number XXX

- Press buttons -0-, -1- and -7- for "Display group number 17" and
confirm with -Q- button.

Indicated on display: (1...4 = Display zones)

- Check the readiness code in display zone 2
Specification: x000xxxx
and display zone 4

If the specification is obtained:
- Press button.
- Press buttons -0- and -6- for "End output" and confirm with -Q- button.
- Switch off ignition.

If the specifications are not obtained:
- Press -> button.
- Set readiness code. Readiness Code Generating (VW Drive Cycle)
