With Manufacturer's Scan Tool
Output Diagnostic Test Mode, initiating (function 03)
The Output Diagnostic Test Mode activates the following components in the stated sequence:
1. Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve -N80-
2. Secondary air pump relay -J299-
3. Leak detection pump (LDP) -V144-
4. Cylinder 1 Fuel Injector -N30-
5. Cylinder 3 Fuel Injector -N32-
6. Cylinder 4 Fuel Injector -N33-
7. Cylinder 2 Fuel Injector -N31-
NOTE: The activation of the components can deviate or occur in another sequence depending on the current control module version.

Test conditions
- The main fuses must be OK.
- All fuses must be OK.
- Ignition on, engine not running
NOTE:
- The Output Diagnostic Test Mode can only be carried out if the engine is stationary and ignition switched on.
- The Output Diagnostic Test Mode will be aborted if the engine is started or a rotational impulse is recognized.
- During the Output Diagnostic Test Mode the individual final controls will be activated for approx. 60 seconds or until advancing to the next final control by pressing the -> button.
- The Output Diagnostic Test Mode can be aborted by pressing the C key so that it need not be continued with the -> key to the end. This is especially important because the injectors can be actuated with the -> key according to the firing order and inject fuel.
- The electric fuel pump will run during the complete Output Diagnostic Test Mode.
- The final controls are checked acoustically or by touching.
- The Output Diagnostic Test Mode will be aborted after 60 seconds, if -> key is not pressed again.
- Run engine briefly first if there is a requirement to repeat Output Diagnostic Test Mode.
Work sequence
- Connect the V.A.G 1551 scan tool ((VAG 1552). Then switch ignition on and select engine control module with the "Address word" 01.
