Notes on installation
Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

Work sequence
- Check whether dowel sleeves for centering engine/transmission are fitted in cylinder block, install if necessary.

Models with a manual transmission
- Check clutch and clutch operating mechanism and install

- Clean drive shaft splines and lightly grease with G 000 100.

Models with an automatic transmission
- When securing torque converter to drive plate, only use nuts which are authorized for this purpose in Parts Supplier.

Continuation for all vehicles
- When installing engine/transmission assembly, ensure sufficient clearance to engine and transmission mountings and radiator.
- Align engine and transmission mountings.

Note: Torque settings for assembly mountings, Refer to Engine Specifications, Mechanical

- Install compact bracket and alternator
- Install front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter
- Install pendulum support
- Install drive shafts:

Models with a manual transmission
- Install gear selector mechanism
- If necessary adjust gear selector cables
- Install hydraulic line to hydraulic clutch slave cylinder:
- Bleed clutch system

Models with an automatic transmission
- Install gate selector lever cable on transmission adjust if necessary
Continuation for all vehicles
- Install power steering pump
- Install intake manifold, Refer to Timing Cover, Service and Repair.
- Install air cleaner with intake hose
- Install battery and battery retainer.
- Install ribbed belt.
- Check electrical connections and routing
- Install center, left and right insulation trays
- Top up coolant level.
- Perform test drive and check DTC memory:

- Adapt (match) engine control module to throttle valve control module:
- Perform work sequence "Procedure after interrupting voltage supply":
- Read readiness code:

- If DTC memory has been erased or engine control module separated from permanent positive supply, readiness code must be generated again:

Models with an automatic transmission
- On models fitted with an automatic transmission TOM must also be adapted:
