If appropriate code for vehicle is not displayed or if ECM has been replaced, code ECM as follows.

Special tools
- VAG1551/1552 Scan Tool using VAG1551/3 Adapter cable

Work sequence
- Connect VAG1551/1552 Scan Tool.
- Switch ON ignition but do not start engine.
- Press -0- and -1- buttons to select Address word 01: "Engine electronics"

Display will appear as shown (I.D. example only):

- Press -> button.

- Press -0- and -7- buttons to select Function 07: "Code control module".
- Press -Q- button to enter input.

- Switch ignition OFF and then ON again.


NOTE: Entered coding is activated by switching ignition OFF and then ON again. If, after entering correct code, ignition is NOT switched OFF and ON again, malfunction:"Control Module incorrectly coded" will become stored in DTC memory and must be erased.


- Erase DTC memory.
- Set Readiness code.
