Section D - Additional Repair Information





- If cable guide -A- needs to be replaced, install new cable guide that came on the new short lower cable, using rivet (1Y0 871 996 B)
- If cable guide -B- needs to be replaced, install new cable guide that came on the new short lower cable, using rivet (1Y0 871 996 B) and a new bushing (1Y0 871 180) from the repair kit

NOTE: Most vehicles will not need these cable guides replaced





- If there is no hole in the frame -arrow- to which cable guide for the long upper cable can be attached, a hole must be drilled





- Drill a 4.2±0.2 mm (.165±.008 in.) diameter hole using measurements in the diagram

NOTE: Diagram shows front and side views of hole location

IMPORTANT:
- The frame must not be detached from the assembly to avoid possible malfunction
- Ensure that headlining is protected before drilling hole, to avoid possible damage
