Oil pump with balancer shaft gear assembly, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment
^ T10060 Locking pin
Removing
^ Remove oil pan.
^ Remove chain guard. Release locking tabs by inserting a small screwdriver through openings (arrows) if necessary.
^ Loosen bolt on oil pump chain sprocket.
^ Relieve tension on chain rail using a screwdriver (arrow) and lock rail using a 3 mm Allen key -1-.
^ Remove oil pump chain sprocket and take chain off balancer shaft gear assembly.
^ Loosen securing bolts on balancer shaft gear assembly (starting at outer sides and working inwards) and remove them.
Installing and adjusting oil pump with balancer shaft gear assembly
Conditions
^ Chain tensioner pre-tensioned, Refer to Oil Pump, Service and Repair, Oil Pump with balancer shaft gear assembly, Disassembling and Assembling
^ Install oil pump with balancer shaft gear assembly. Tighten securing bolts (starting on inside and working outward) to 15 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further.
Note: Observe different lengths of bolts, Refer to Engine Lubrication, Service and Repair, See Fig 2.
^ Set crankshaft to TDC No. 1 cylinder.
^ Align mark on balancer shaft chain sprocket (arrow) with fixture hole. Lock chain sprocket in this position with pin T10060. Fit chain onto balancer shaft chain sprocket.
^ Position milled side of oil pump shaft so that it is facing forward.
^ Install oil pump chain sprocket and tighten bolt hand tight.
Note: The oil pump chain sprocket only fits in one position. Only the oil pump may be turned when installing.
^ Remove locking pin T10060 and Allen key -1-. Secure oil pump chain sprocket.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm
Counter-support on central bolt of vibration damper.
The rest of the assembly is basically in reverse order to the removal sequence.
