Headlights And Fog Lamps, Adjusting
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items needed
- VAS 5107 optical headlight aimer
Vehicles with high intensity gas discharge (HID) lamps
On vehicles equipped with HID lamps, aiming must be done in conjunction with On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program "Basic Setting" (Scan Tool function 04).
Where applicable, also check/Confirm position of driving direction selector on headlight housing. Confirm setting for the USA/CDN : "left-hand drive".

Proceed as follows:
Headlights, aiming
NOTE:
- Always adjust lights with optical headlight aimer VAS 5107, using detailed aiming procedure and specifications
- Low and high beams are adjusted simultaneously.
Left headlight (adjustment screws for right headlight are mirror image):
1 - Lateral adjustment
2 - Height adjustment
- Access adjustment screws through hole in lock carrier (Phillips head or socket head).
- Turn the adjusting screws for lateral adjustment -1- and height adjustment -2- until the correct setting is achieved.
NOTE: Where equipped, ensure equal movement/function of headlights during automatic headlight range adjustment.
Fog lamps, aiming
- To access adjusting screws, unclip trim from center outwards, and remove -arrow-.
Left fog lamp (adjustment screw for right fog lamp is mirror image):
- To reduce fog lamp range, turn adjusting screw -arrow- to the right. Lateral adjustment is not possible.
