Lubrication system components, removing and installing
1. Cylinder block/bearing block
2. Gasket
^ Replace
3. Banjo bolt, 30 Nm
4. Seal
^ Replace
5. Oil return line
^ From oil separator
6. Retainer
^ For power steering pump
7. 40 Nm
8. 20 Nm
9. Banjo bolt, 20 Nm
10. Lower sump
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Coat sealing surfaces with D 176 404 A2
11. Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ If sealing ring is leaking cut open and replace.
12. 8 Nm
13. Oil pump
^ Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored
14. Chain tensioner with tensioning rail
^ Individual components
15. 10 Nm
16. Union for oil return line from oil filler bracket
17. Upper sump
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
18. Guide tube
^ For dipstick
^ Secured on cylinder head
19. Dipstick
^ Oil level must not be above the max mark!
^ Markings, - Fig 1
20. Chain

a - Area above hatched field up to max. mark: Do not replenish with engine oil!
b - Oil level within hatched field: can be replenished with engine oil
c - Area from min. mark up to hatched field: replenish with max. 0.5 Ltr. of engine oil!
