Crankshaft dimensions
Crankshaft bearing cap bolts 65 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
Crankshaft
Axial clearance,
new: 0.07 ... 0.17 mm;
wear limit: 0.37 mm
Check radial clearance with Plastigage
new 0.03 ... 0.08 mm
wear limit-0.17 mm
Do not rotate crankshaft when checking radial clearance
Connecting Rod
Axial clearance, wear limit: 0.37 mm
Check radial clearance with Plastigage- Wear limit 0.08
Connecting rod bolt 30 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
Determine ring gap
Piston Ring Dimensions
1. Compression Ring
New (0.20 in) 0.40 mm
Wear Limit 1.0 mm
2. Compression Ring
New (0.20 in) 0.40 mm
Wear Limit 1.0 mm

Piston and cylinder dimensions
Piston projection of all pistons at TDC must be measured when installing new pistons or a short engine. Depending upon piston projection, install the corresponding cylinder head gasket according to the following table:
Note: Turn engine clockwise to measure piston projection at TDC.

Note: If different values are measured during the projection measurement, use the largest dimension for determining the gasket.
