Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair


Radiator fan (engines with engine codes: AEG, AVH and AZG), checking

- V A G 1594 A Adapter set
- Wiring diagram

Test requirements





- Main fuses must be OK
- Coolant Fan Control (FC) Thermal Switch -F18- OK

Test sequence
- Remove left sound insulation tray
- Disconnect 3-pin connector off Coolant Fan Control (FC) thermal switch -F18
- Bridge contact -1- and contact -2- of connector with auxiliary cables from V A G 1594





- Connector type A





- Connector type B





- Connector type C
- 1st speed for Coolant fans -V7- and -V35- must run.
- Switch ignition on
- Bridge contact -2- and contact -3- of connector with auxiliary cables from V.A.G. 1594
- 2nd speed for Coolant Fans -V7- and -V35- must run.
- If fan 1st or 2nd speeds do not run:
- Locate and repair open circuit
- If no malfunction in wiring is detected.
- Replace Coolant fans -V7- and -V35
