Engine: Specifications

Cylinder Head

Pretighten all bolts to 40 Nm.
Then tighten all bolts 1/4 turn (90° ) using a rigid wrench.
Then tighten all bolts again another 1/4 turn (90° ).
Always Replace Cylinder Head bolts

Upper intake manifold bolt 6 Nm
Lower intake manifold bolt 20 Nm

Exhaust manifold bolt 35 Nm

Camshaft Bearing Caps
Tighten bearing caps 2 and 4 alternately and diagonally to 20 Nm.
Coat contact surfaces of bearing cap 1 lightly with sealing compound AMV 174 004 01.
Install bearing caps 3, 1 and 5 and also tighten to 20 Nm.

Flex Plate
Tighten bolts to 60 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
(turning further can be done in several stages).

Water pump bolt 15 Nm

Conventional Connecting Rod
Connecting rod bearing cap 30 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)

Industrially Cracked Connecting Rod
Separating cap from connecting rod 30 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)

Vibration damper/belt pulley 25 Nm

Crankshaft Main Bearing Cap Bolts 65 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
