Torque & Tightening Sequence
Dimensional Specifications
Cylinder head distortion:
Max permissible distortion 0.1 mm
Note: Reworking Diesel cylinder heads is not permissible.
Cylinder head gasket, identification
Part No. see arrow -1-
Production control code see arrow -2- (ignore)
Holes see arrow -3-
Note: Different thicknesses of cylinder head gasket are installed depending on the piston projection dimension. When replacing the cylinder head gasket, install a new gasket with the same identification.
Tightening Specifications
Cylinder Head Tightening Torque and Sequence
- Tighten cylinder head in following four stage sequence:
1. Tighten initially using torque wrench:
Stage I = 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
Stage II = 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.)
2. Turn further with a normal wrench:
Stage III = 1/4 turn (90°)
Stage IV = 1/4 turn (90°)
NOTE: Loosen cylinder head bolts in reverse of tightening sequence shown above.
