Convertible Top, Noise in Roof

Noises in convertible top (central), top liner may be loose or separated.

Technical Background

Figure 1:

Insert profile that fastens roof liner to middle convertible roof frame (clamping profile) loose or separated, see figure 1.

Secure both ends of top liner to middle roof frame using clamp Part No. N0152611.

Improvement was introduced from the following VIN numbers:

Service

Figure 2:

^ Open the top cover half way.

^ Without removing the roof liner, reconnect insert profile to roof frame (clamping profile).

Using upholstery clip pliers VAG1634:

Figure 3:

^ Place clamp Part No. N0152611 with insert profile, leaving a distance of 10 mm from the end.

NOTE:
Clamp must capture both the insert profile and roof frame.

^ Perform the same procedure again to the other side.
