Windows Inoperative After Repair
The following symptoms may occur after window motor (Door Control Module, Driver Side -J386- / Door Control Module, Passenger Side -J387- window regulator replacement:
^ The comfort system is inoperative.
^ Pinch protection activates randomly.
^ Erratic window operation.
Technical Background
Symptoms may occur if vehicle has previously been upgraded with new design window regulators and control modules (see Technical Bulletin Instance number 2011804), and after that repair, old (original system) index parts have been used in a later repair.
The two software levels of control modules (original vs. updated) are incompatible.
Pulley speeds on the window regulators (original vs. updated) are different.
If ANY ONE of these components are mismatched (original vs. updated), the system will not operate properly or become inoperative.
Production Solution
Symptoms only occur with vehicles manufactured before VIN 1Y_4M345795 which may have been updated.
Vehicles manufactured after VIN 1Y_4M345795 were produced with the updated system.
