Mechatronic, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment
^ VAG 1306 Drip tray
^ VAG 1331 Torque wrench
Removing
- Remove oil pan.
- Carefully release connector -A- using a little screwdriver and pull it off the Mechatronic.
Note: Do not pull at the connector wiring -A-. If the wiring has been damaged the Sensor for transmission RPM -G182-, and Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor -G93- must be replaced.
- Loosen wiring of the Sensor for transmission RPM out of tabs (arrows) at Mechatronic.
- Unscrew bolts from -10- to -1-.
- Screws must be replaced.
- Remove Mechatronic-C- straight out of transmission.
Note: Be careful not to damage the long sensor on back of Mechatronic.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Note the following:
- Install Mechatronic -C- without exerting force.
Note:
^ Take care not to trap wire of connector-A- when installing the Mechatronic. Sensor for transmission RPM -G182- / Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor -G93- must be replaced if wire is damaged.
^ Be careful not to damage long sensor on back of Mechatronic.
- Hand tighten bolts in sequence -1- to -10-.
- Tighten bolts in sequence -1- to-10- to 5 Nm plus an additional 90° (90° corresponds to 1/4 turn).
- Hang wiring into tabs (arrows).
- Connect connector -A-.
- Clean gasket and sealing surfaces and remove oil residue.
- Replace O-rings -B- at 20-pin connector of Mechatronic.
- Moisten O-rings -B- with gear oil.
- Install oil pan.
Tightening torque:
Mechatronic to transmission 5 Nm + 90°
10 x screw M6, according to tightening sequence
