ATF, Replacing
ATF, replacing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)
Requirements
^ Engine is switched off.
^ All electrical consumers and A/C system must be switched off.
^ Transmission not in emergency running mode, ATF temperature not above approximately 30°C.
^ Vehicle on a flat surface
^ Selector lever at "P"
Drain plug with sealing ring must be replaced.
^ Secure reservoir of ATF filler tool V.A.G1924 to vehicle.
^ Raise vehicle.
^ For vehicles with auxiliary heater, remove bolts - arrows - from exhaust pipe at noise insulation.
^ Remove noise insulation - arrows A and B -.
^ For vehicles with noise insulation - D -, remove bolts - arrows C -.
^ Place drip tray V.A.G1306 underneath.
^ Remove drain plug - arrow 1 -.
^ Drain ATF.
^ Tighten new drain plug - arrow 1 -.
^ Remove ATF check plug - arrow 2 -.
^ Guide ATF filler tool V.A.G1924 into an opening - arrow - of protective cap, do not push cap up and in while doing so.
^ Add ATF until it exits from check hole.
^ Screw in ATF check plug hand-tight.
^ Place selector lever in position "P".
^ Start engine.
^ Depress brake pedal.
^ Shift once through all selector lever positions, remaining in each shifted position approximately 10 seconds, with vehicle at standstill.
^ Place selector lever in position "P".
^ Then check ATF level and top off.
