Engine, disassembling and assembling
Note:
^ Do not set the engine down on the sump or the liquid gasket between the upper and lower sump will be damaged. Use engine stand T10116 to hold the engine.
^ Secure engine in engine and transmission stand VAS 6095 when performing work on the engine.

1. 100 Nm - 1/4 turn (90°) further
^ Replace
^ Counter-hold with T10069 to loosen and tighten - Fig 1
^ Tighten using torque wrench VAG 1601
2. Vibration damper
^ Removing and installing ribbed belt, Refer to Drive Belt, Service and Repair
3. 40 Nm
4. Torque bracket
^ Engine front mounting, Refer to Engine Mount, Service and Repair
5. Cover cap
6. Idler roller, 30 Nm
7. Dowel sleeve
^ Note installation position, Refer to Cylinder Head, Service and Repair
8. Oil non-return valve, 6 Nm
^ Note installation position
^ Clean if badly soiled
9. Mount
^ For alternator
10. 25 Nm
11. Knock sensors
^ , Refer to Powertrain Management, Ignition System, Service and Repair, See item 6
12. 20 Nm
^ Tightening torque influences function of knock sensor

^ Removing and installing sealing flange and two-part flywheel, Refer to Transmission and drivetrain, Flywheel M/T, Service and Repair
15. Left engine bracket
16. Sealing plug, 20 Nm

^ Vibration damper securing bolt must be replaced.
^ Tighten securing bolt with torque wrench VAG 1601.
