Note:
^ Do not set the engine down on the sump or the liquid gasket between the upper and lower sump will be damaged. Use engine stand T10116 to hold the engine.
^ Secure engine in engine and transmission stand VAS 6095 when performing work on the engine.
1. 100 Nm - 1/4 turn (90°) further
^ Replace
^ Counter-hold with T10069 to loosen and tighten - Fig 1
^ Tighten using torque wrench VAG 1601
2. Vibration damper
^ Removing and installing ribbed belt, Refer to Drive Belt, Service and Repair
3. 40 Nm

5. Cover cap

^ Vibration damper securing bolt must be replaced.
^ Tighten securing bolt with torque wrench VAG 1601.
