Preparation For Removing and Installing

Generator -8- cylinder engine, preparation for removing and installing

Generator removal and installation requires the following preparation:
- Disconnect battery.
- Move lock carrier and front bumper reinforcement to service position
- Drain engine coolant

WARNING: The cooling system is pressurized when the engine is warm. Wear gloves and other protection and carefully release system pressure if necessary, before performing repairs.

- Remove oil lines from oil cooler/filter

NOTE: In addition to the above preparation, it may be helpful to remove the radiator and A/C compressor (where necessary, remove A/C compressor from bracket without opening refrigerant circuit).
