Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hand vacuum pump (VAG 1390)

Test Sequence

- Remove connecting hose for charge air pipe/intake connection.

• With connector couplings, follow the installation instructions closely.

- Disconnect vacuum hose at Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vacuum regulator solenoid valve.

- Connect hand vacuum pump with additional equipment (VAG 1390) to valve.

- Operate hand vacuum pump and observe diaphragm rod. Diaphragm rod must move in - direction of arrow -.





- Disconnect hose of hand vacuum pump from EGR valve. Diaphragm rod must move back in opposite - direction of arrow - into the output position.
