Diagnostic Procedures

Pump Injector Unit

• Cylinder bank 1 is located in direction of travel, right.

• Cylinder bank 2 is located in direction of travel, left.

• Always replace sealing rings and O-rings





1 20 Nm + 1/4 additional turn (90 °)

• replace

• Observe sequence for loosening and tightening , removing and installing Pump-Injector Unit

2 Lock nut

3 Adjustment bolt

• Replace with each separation from ball pin

4 Rocker arm axle

• With rocker arm

• Check ball pins for traces of wear, replace if necessary ,

5 Tension block

6 12 Nm + 3/4 additional turn (270 °)

• replace

7 Pump-Injector Unit

• Check Pump-Injector Unit valves --> [ Pump Injector Unit, Checking ] Pump Injector Unit, Checking

Cylinder bank 1:

• Valve for pump/injector, cylinder 1 (N240)* to Valve for pump/injector, cylinder 5 (N244)*

Cylinder bank 2:

• Valve for pump/injector, cylinder 6 (N245)* to Cylinder 10 Pump/Injector (N306)*

8 O-ring

• replace

9 Heat protection seal

• replace

10 Snap ring
