Driver/Passenger Side Airbag

• Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for working on airbags --> [ Airbag Safety Precautions ] Technician Safety Information.

- Remove belt anchor --> [ Belt Anchor ] Belt Anchor.

- Remove 12-way seat --> [ Front Seat ] Front Seats.

- Remove backrest hinge trim for 12-way seat --> [ Front Seat Backrest Hinge trim ] Front Seats.

- Remove trim for 12-way seat --> [ Front Seat Trim ] Front Seats.

- Remove backrest for 12-way seat --> [ Front Seat Backrest ] Front Seats.

- Remove the 12-way front seat cover and padding --> [ Seat Backrest and Upholstery ] Front Seat Cushion and Upholstery.

- Separate wiring harness - 1 - from backrest frame.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and - 4 - (4.5 Nm).

- Remove side airbag - 4 - from mounting in backrest frame.





Installing

- Perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
