Safety Regulations For Belt Tensioners
- Testing, removing, installing and repair work may only be performed by qualified personnel.
- Belt tensioner components may be neither opened nor repaired; always use new parts (risk of injury).
- Belt tensioner units which have received hard knocks or been dropped on floor, must not be installed in a vehicle.
- Belt tensioner units which are mechanically damaged (dents, fractures) must be replaced.
- Storage and transportation conform to legislation for explosive substances.
- Disposal of old components that have not been ignited (triggered) is performed by distribution center or importer.
- Belt tensioner units should be installed immediately after removing them from their packaging.
- No tools with hammer type action may be used to disassemble belt tensioner.
- If work is interrupted, belt tensioner unit should be placed into its packaging again.
- It is not permitted to leave belt tensioner unit unattended.
- Belt tensioner unit must not be treated with grease, cleaning or similar substances, nor may it be exposed to temperatures above 100 degree C, even for short periods.
- Pyrotechnic propellant has no expiration date, i.e. it has unlimited, maintenance-free life.
