1 Exhaust tail pipe

2 Rear muffler
- At factory, center and rear mufflers are installed as a single component. Spare center and rear mufflers are supplied separately for the case of repairs, with double clamps for the connection.
- In case of repair, install rear muffler stress-free
3 Support ring

- Marked by a depression in the exhaust pipe
- At factory, center and rear mufflers are installed as a single component. Spare center and rear mufflers are supplied separately for the case of repairs, with double clamps for the connection.
- Cut connecting pipe at separating point at right angle using body repair saw (e.g. VAG1523)
- Notches left and right of separating point must still be visible after installing double clamps.
7 Support ring

10 Double clamp, 40 Nm

14 Center muffler
- At factory, center and rear mufflers are installed as a single component. Spare center and rear mufflers are supplied separately for the case of repairs, with double clamps for the connection.
15 Double clamp (for repair)

Screw tips must not project beyond the lower edge of the clamp.

Requirement
- Exhaust system, cold

Procedure
- Press exhaust system in direction of travel (arrow -1-) and tighten double clamps tightly until dimension -a- at suspensions is reached.
Center muffler:
- Dimension -a- = 10 mm
Rear muffler:
- Dimension -a- = 15 mm
