General Information
The Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- (ignition/starter switch) has electronic terminal control.

In the event of -E415- malfunctions, are output via the Access/Start Control Module -J518-.

The ignition key removal lock is released electromagnetically. The ignition key cannot be removed as long as the ignition is switched on and, for vehicles with automatic transmissions, the gear selector lever is not in the "P" position.

The ignition key removal lock ensures that the ignition key is secure against being inadvertently pulled out.

Before troubleshooting or servicing, technicians must be familiar with the functions and operation specifics of the start/access authorization system. Always read the owner's manual and review applicable system functions.
