1. Air cleaner
2. 6 Nm
3. 10 Nm
4. Vacuum connection
- To intake manifold
5. 40-pin connector
- Only disconnect or connect with ignition switched off
- Release to disconnect
6. 81-pin connector
- Only disconnect or connect with ignition switched off
- Release to disconnect
7. Engine control module*
- Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-
- Location: In plenum chamber
- Checking voltage supply
- Procedure after voltage supply open circuit
8. 6-pin connector
- Black for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39- and oxygen sensor (O2S) heater -Z19-
- On underside of vehicle
9. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) -G39-*, 50Nm
- With 6-pin connector
- Location: In catalyst, front
- Grease only the threads with Part No. G 052 112 A3 hot bolt paste (anti-seize compound). Grease must not get into slots on sensor body
- Remove and install with oxygen sensor open ring wrench set 3337
- If replaced, erase learned values and adapt engine control module to throttle valve control module
- Oxygen sensor heating voltage supply via fuel pump relay -J17-
- Checking oxygen sensor heating before catalyst
- Checking oxygen sensor and oxygen sensor control before catalyst
- Checking oxygen sensor aging oxygen sensor 1

10. 4-pin connector
- Black for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) -G130- and oxygen sensor (O2S) heater -Z19-
- On underside of vehicle
11. Oxygen Sensor (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) -G130-*, 50Nm
- With 4-pole connector
- Location: Behind catalyst
- Grease only the threads with Part No. G 052 112 A3 hot bolt paste (anti-seize compound). Grease must not get into slots on sensor body
- Remove and install with oxygen sensor open ring wrench set 3337
- If replaced, erase learned values and adapt engine control module to throttle valve control module
- Oxygen sensor heating voltage supply via fuel pump (FP) relay -J17-
- Checking oxygen sensor heating for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)
- Checking oxygen sensor and oxygen sensor control after catalyst

- For recirculating valve for turbocharger
- For engine speed sensor

- Secure with spring-type clips
- Check securely seated
- To the fuel delivery unit in fuel tank
26. Supply line/hose
- Secure with spring-type clips
- From fuel filter.
27. Fuel rail with injectors
28. Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor -G42-*
29. To line between turbo charger and charge air cooler
30. To line between turbo charger and charge air cooler
31. To turbocharger
32. From crankcase breather
- Valve cover

- Oil filter bracket

- For engine control module

- If necessary release pressure in cooling system before removing
