Technical Background

For 2004 models:

^ Verify whether work procedures outlined in the following Technical Bulletin (depending upon model) have been performed:

^ Golf, Jetta, Jetta Wagon - TB Instance 2010461 (2004 only)

^ New Beetle - TB Instance 2010463 (2004 only)

If repairs Have Not been performed:

^ Perform appropriate repairs.

If repairs Have been performed and condition still exists:

^ Go to Installing New Injectors and Engine Control Module Update - Programming (Flashing) using Software Version Management (SVM).--> Service

For 2005 models:

If condition exist:

^ Go to Installing New Injectors and Engine Control Module Update - Programming (Flashing) using Software Version Management (SVM).--> Service

Installing New Injectors and Engine Control Module Update - Programming (Flashing) using Software Version Management (SVM)





Note:

Step 1:





^ Install injectors, glow plugs and glow plug control module from table.

Step 2:

^ After installation of glow plugs, glow plug controller and fuel injectors, continue with Engine Control Module Update - Programming (Flashing) using Software Version Management (SVM)

^ Update the Engine Control Module using the SVM Unit code as listed in the table.
