^ Replace seal if damaged

3 - Cylinder head cover
4 - Cylinder head cover gasket
^ Replace if damaged
^ Coat bearing cap or camshaft adjuster-chain tensioner transition points to cylinder head with D 454 300 A2 and before installing
5 - Oil deflector
^ Note installed position: above intake camshaft
6 - Cylinder head
^ Check for distortion.
^ Reworking sealing surface.
^ After replacing, replace entire coolant amount
7 - Intake manifold seal
^ Replace
^ Note installed position
8 - Cylinder head gasket
^ Replace
^ Metal gasket
^ After replacing, replace entire coolant amount
^ Note installation position:
- Part number must be legible from intake side
9 - 25 Nm
^ For tensioning roller
10 - Seal for exhaust manifold
^ Replace
^ Note installed position
11 - Cylinder head bolt
^ Replace
^ Remove and install polydrive cylinder head bolts with T10070
12 - Connection piece
13 - Boot
^ Replace if damaged
Checking cylinder head for distortion
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Straight edge
^ Feeler gauges
Max. permissible distortion: 0.1 mm

^ After replacing, replace entire coolant amount
^ Note installation position:
- Part number must be legible from intake side
9 - Toothed belt
^ Mark direction of rotation before removing
^ Check for wear
^ Do not kink.
10 - Seal for exhaust manifold
^ Replace
^ Note installed position
11 - Cylinder head bolt
^ Replace
^ Remove and install polydrive cylinder head bolts with T10070
12 - Seal
^ Replace if damaged
