1 - 15 Nm

2 - Sealing flange

3 - Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm
^ When installing, pretension spring

4 - Dipstick
^ Oil level must not be above max. mark!
^ Markings

5 - Guide
^ Pull off to extract oil

6 - Guide tube

7 - Oil spray jet
^ For piston cooling

8 - Pressure relieve valve, 27 Nm

9 - 15 Nm

10 - Suction line
^ Clean strainer if soiled

11 - O-ring
^ Replace

12 - Baffle plate

13 - Oil level thermal sensor -G266-
^ Engines with LongLife Service only

14 - 10 Nm
^ Engines with LongLife Service only

15 - O-ring
^ Engines with LongLife Service only
^ Replace
^ Oil before installation

16 - Oil pan
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Install with silicone sealing compound D 176 404 A2

17 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ With attached seal
^ Replace
^ Install hand tight first and tighten to specified torque

18 - Seal
^ Replace

19 - Oil return pipe
^ From turbocharger

20 - Oil pump
^ With pressure relief valve of 12 bar
^ Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves are installed for centralizing oil pump/cylinder block
^ Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored

21 - Chain sprocket for oil pump
^ Note installed position

22 - 25 Nm
^ Use counterhold T10051 to loosen and tighten

23 - Chain
^ Mark direction of rotation with color before removing (installed position)
^ Check for wear

24 - Dowel sleeves

^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Install with silicone sealing compound D 176 404 A2

16 - Oil sump, lower part
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Install with silicone sealing compound D 176 501 A1

17 - Oil seal
^ Not installed in all engines
^ Replace if available separately

18 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ In some engines with attached seal
^ Replace, if oil drain plug with attached seal is installed
^ Install hand tight first and tighten to specified torque

19 - Seal
^ Replace

20 - 10 Nm

21 - Oil return pipe
^ From turbocharger

22 - 15 Nm

23 - Oil pump
^ With pressure relief valve of 12 bar
^ Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves are installed for centralizing oil pump/cylinder block
^ Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored

24 - Chain sprocket for oil pump
^ Note installed position

25 - Chain
^ Mark direction of rotation with color before removing (installed position)

^ Clean strainer if soiled

11 - O-ring
^ Replace

12 - Baffle plate

13 - Rubber bushing
^ On cylinder block
^ Replace if damaged

14 - Sleeves

15 - Oil pan guard

16 - 37 Nm
^ Install with locking fluid D 000 600 A2

17 - Spreader rivet

18 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ With attached seal
^ Replace
^ Fit hand tight first and tighten to specified torque

19 - Seal
^ Replace

20 - 10 Nm

21 - Oil return pipe
^ From turbocharger

22 - Oil pan
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Install with silicone sealing compound D 176 404 A2

23 - 15 Nm

24 - 25 Nm
^ Use counterhold T10051 to loosen and tighten

25 - Chain sprocket for oil pump
^ Note installed position

26 - Oil pump
^ With pressure relief valve of 12 bar
^ Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves are installed for centralizing oil pump/cylinder block
^ Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored

^ Mark direction of rotation with color before removing (installed position)
^ Check for wear

1 - Plug, 40 Nm
^ Replace

2 - Oil seal

3 - Spring
^ For pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar

4 - Piston
^ For pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar

5 - Gasket
^ Replace

6 - Non-return valve, 8 Nm

7 - O-ring
^ Replace

8 - Pipe

9 - Securing clip
^ Check for secure seating

10 - Plug, 15 Nm

11 - Oil seal
^ If sealing ring is leaking, nip open and replace

12 - 20 Nm

13 - Oil supply pipe
^ To exhaust turbocharger

14 - Banjo bolt, 30 Nm

15 - Seal
^ Replace

16 - 1.4 bar Oil pressure switch -F1-, 25 Nm
^ Black

17 - Oil seal
^ If sealing ring is leaking, nip open and replace

18 - 15 Nm plus 1/4 turn (90)
^ Replace

19 - Seal
^ Replace
^ Install in groove on oil cooler

20 - Oil filter
^ Loosen with tensioning strap or oil filter wrench 3417
^ Tighten by hand
^ Note instructions on filter when installing

21 - 25 Nm

22 - Oil cooler
^ Ensure clearance to adjacent components
^ Coat contact area to oil filter bracket, outside seal, with AMV 188 100 02

23 - Oil filter bracket
^ With pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar
