Front axle toe, adjusting
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required as weights.
Torque wrench V.A.G 1332:
If values are outside tolerance, transverse inclination must be checked first and compensated if necessary.
Only by moving the subframe is it possible to center the camber within specified range.
- Loosen bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.
- Slide subframe far enough until camber is equal on both sides.
- Check caster angle.
Caster angle may be changed by sliding subframe!
- Tighten subframe with new bolts.
Tightening torques:
Subframe to body bolt position - 1 - Use new bolts! 100 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Subframe to body bolt position - 2 - Use new bolts! 100 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
