Adapting Functions And Components

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051
- Diagnosis cable VAS5051/5A or VAS5051/6A

Work sequence
- Connect Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051 as follows:







- Connect connector of diagnosis cable VAS5051/5A or VAS5051/6A to Data Link Connector (DLC).







- Switch tester on - arrow -.

The tester is ready when an illustration (photograph) of a vehicle appears.
- Switch ignition on.
- Touch field "Guided fault finding" on screen.
- Select following one after another:
- Model
- Model year
- Variation
- Engine code
- Confirm data entered.

Wait until the tester has read all the available control modules (vehicle system test).

After all control modules have been read:
- Press key "Go to".
- Select "Function/component selection".
- Then press "Drive (Repair group 01; 10 - 26; 28 - 39)".
- Select respective engine code.
- Choose corresponding repair group depending on what needs to be checked.
- Via screen, select with "Functions" or "Electrical components" function or component which is to be checked.
