1 - Radiator
^ After replacing, replace entire amount of coolant

2 - O-ring
^ Replace

3 - Upper coolant hose
^ Secured to radiator with retaining clip

5 - Filler cap
^ Check with cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 and adapter for cooling system tester V.A.G 1274/9
^ Pressure relief valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 to 1.6 bar

6 - 2.5 Nm
7 - Expansion tank
^ Leak test cooling system with cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 and adapter for cooling system V.A.G 1274/8
^ Test pressure 1.4 to 1.6 bar
^ Observe marking

8 - To coolant pipe

9 - Air ducting
10 - 5 Nm
11 - Supplementary coolant fan
^ Only models with optional equipment

12 - Fan ring
^ For supplementary coolant fan

13 - Fan ring
14 - Radiator coolant fan
15 - Bracket
^ For radiator coolant fan connector

16 - Lower coolant hose
^ Secured to radiator with retaining clip

17 - O-ring
^ Replace

18 - Coolant Fan Control (FC) thermal switch -F18-, 35 Nm
^ For electric coolant fan
^ Switching temperatures:
- 1st oversize on: 92 to 97 °C 1st oversize off: 84 to 91 °C 2nd oversize on: 99 to 105 °C 2nd oversize off: 91 to 98 °C

19 - Bracket
^ For bottom of radiator
^ Note installed position

20 - Bracket
^ For top of radiator
