Lubrication system, assembly overview

1 - 15 Nm
2 - Sealing flange - belt pulley end
^ With sealing ring
^ Must fit on dowel sleeves
^ Install with silicone sealing compound D176404 A2
^ Do not additionally oil or grease oil seal sealing lip
^ Before installing, remove oil residue from crankshaft journal using a clean cloth
3 - Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm
^ When installing, pretension spring and fit
4 - Oil dipstick
^ Oil level must not be above maximum mark!

^ Use counter-hold T10051 to loosen and tighten

^ Mark direction of rotation before removing
Oil filter bracket, assembly overview
Oil filter bracket, assembly overview:
1 - Oil pressure switch -F1-, 20 Nm
^ 0.7 bar connector, brown
^ If seal is leaking, cut open and replace
2 - Gasket

3 - 15 Nm plus 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace
^ First fit upper left and lower right bolt, then tighten four bolts diagonally

Work sequence
Removing
- Remove sound insulation.
- Position drip tray V.A.G1306 underneath.
- Remove air filter housing.
- Unscrew union nut - 2 - or banjo bolt - 4 - at oil filter bracket.
- Remove bolt - 6 -.
- Unscrew union nut - 2 - at turbocharger.
- Remove bolt - 9 - from support - 7 -.
- Remove nut - 8 - and remove bracket - 7-.
- Remove oil supply pipe - 1-.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse sequence of removal. In the process, note the following:
CAUTION: Always follow the oil supply pipe installation sequence exactly.
Tightening torques
- Secure bracket - 7 - with nut - 8 - loosely to exhaust manifold.
- Tighten union nut - 2 - or banjo bolt - 4 - at oil filter bracket by hand.
- Fit union nut - 2 - hand-tight at turbocharger.
- Fit union nut - 2 - or banjo bolt - 4 - at oil filter bracket and tighten to specified torque.
- Fit union nut - 2 - to turbocharger and tighten to specified torque.
- Position clamps - 5 - on oil supply pipe.
- Fit bolts - 6 - and - 9 - and tighten to specified torque.-
- Tighten nut - 8 - to specified torque.
